Early Access Impressions Of Pants Quest

Today we’ll be checking out ‘Pants quest’ by Ghost Cat Games. As always, This will be an honest review of my experience.

Before we dive in, let’s take a moment to check out the trailer:

Now, if you’re like me after seeing that, you’ll want to help Dave to find his pants, and that’s where this point and click mini-adventure beginnings.

Your goal is to complete numerous activities around the home to get yourself ready for work and locate your pants.

Whilst there is a whole array of tasks to complete, there is a minimum number of them you need to do to get to the pants, and a nice touch is you can’t skip ahead in collecting items needed for later challenges until a certain point in the game.

On my first playthrough, I kept an eye on my tasks list and aimed to complete them all; then, as I replayed it and replayed it some more, I found which felt like the minimum needed to get through.

I think this is the best way to enjoy it, it’s not a long game ranging from 25mins to around an hour for a playthrough, but it’s got a lot to offer for such a short game. Plus, it’s not just the main tasks to take part in; you can also play an Ecco The Dolphin inspired mini-game as well as read additional dialogue and notes.

It’s also important to note that some tasks unlock other activities; for instance, if you take the time to feed the cat, you can give them cuddles, so you may miss out on these wholesome moments if you don’t take the time to explore all the game has to offer.

If you were hoping for a voiced experience, then I’m sorry to say it’s a mumble adventure, but there is a reasonable amount of time to read each of the dialogue blocks, so don’t worry that you’ll miss a hint or part of the story.

I enjoyed my experience playing this game; I’m a big fan of puzzle-solving and enjoy point-and-click escape room esk games, both of which the game does in its little humourus way. I hope we see ghost cat games create another game in a similar style as they have done a great job of this one.
