What's the story behind GRIP
So the story goes that Robert Baker ( a former programmer on Rollcage) was still working to keep the game playable on modern PCs and when Chris Mallinson found out he pitched the idea of a spiritual successor. They went on to form a studio called Caged Elements and soon after began working on GRIP.
Is it for me?
Do you love high speed and the edge of your seat nervous driving not knowing if you are going to spin out or steal that crucial win? Of course, you do and that's what this game is full of. It's such a nostalgic experience for those who were fans of the original Rollcage back in 1999.
Is it easy to pick up
If you've played either Rollcage or Wipeout you've already got a pretty good idea of how the racing aspect of this game works, however, it's still a learning curve to get your head around the track layouts as you've got to not only think about the floor but the walls and the ceiling. It will have you nervous, frustrated and excited all in one race as with each lap everything can change.
Multiplayer
It's a little tricky to get your head around how to set up an online multiplayer with your friends at first but once you have it's a lot of fun. Things sure do get nasty though as your friends soon become your worst enemies. What's great about the multiplayer is you can customize the way your racing and with the ability to make mini tournaments it's much more of a competitive experience.
Final thoughts
This is just a glimmer into the world of GRIP if you've got Xbox Game Pass than get this downloaded and try it out for yourself over wise there are a whole host of people playing this across multiple streaming platforms. I'm enjoying it and it's nice to have a game like this again.
