In a world brimming with delightful, deadly, and dastardly creatures Nairi will need all her wits to outsmart bandit cats, befriend crime lord ducks, and escape a conspiracy as old as time.
NAIRI: Tower of Shirin is a charming graphic adventure with adorable characters within a troubled world that is sure to delight people of all ages looking for a strong narrative and puzzle experience!
Story
NAIRI is the main character, our Heroine, a girl who's had to flee her home in the cover of darkness. Her lifestyle rapidly changes as the story progresses and you need new characters. There's no casual build up, it throws you in right about the point of fleeing and this is done really well which can sometimes be a surprise in these style of games.
Gameplay
It's traditional yet straightforward point-and-click adventure style game which feels perfectly at home on the Nintendo Switch using the touch controls. You've still got to do the moving left and right through scenes, which in some seconds takes a lot of time due to the distance of points for certain puzzles but I actually didn't mind this as it adds to the challenge while allowing you to take in and enjoy the beautiful art style of this game.
Challenges
Are you up for a challenge? The puzzles in this can feel like some of the most complex you'll undertake certainly if you aren't a big point-and-click fan, but each is very enjoyable and worth it. If you are new to these types of games a good tip to do (certainly on the Nintendo Switch) is take advantage of the inbuilt platform screenshot tools so once you get back to the next part of the puzzle you haven't forgotten what you needed to do. Some wouldn't likely say this is cheating a little but seriously who hasn't gotten a notepad and pen to remember stuff? It's just a more modern way to do it.
Visuals
This game really speaks for itself when it comes to art style and it's very suiting to the gameplay.
Final Thoughts
Are you a fan of puzzles? Just got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and want a challenging game to take on? If so then I'd say go and check this one out, with its satisfying puzzles, engaging story and beautiful art style it'll keep you playing right up till it ends.
