Olda Robot
Review: Sizeable
Updated: Mar 28, 2021
Have you ever wanted to shrink the moon or make a boat huge? It’s all in your control when playing Sizeable, the puzzling exploration game from Business Goose Studios.
Sizeable is a low polygon puzzle game in which you shrink and grow the environment. With super simple controls, you’re tasked with rotating the scene and resizing objects to complete a series of puzzles that reveal the hidden monoliths of which there are three to collect per level. As you resize objects it can affect the world in which you’re exploring for instances making the moon smaller can affect tides, make clouds bigger can create more wind and so on. You can also affect the world by triggering interactive sections such as using a battery to power up a generator or defrosting snow with a fire. That’s not all though each scene has an adorable turtle to look out for too. You’ll find yourself double-checking all your puzzles before putting the final monolith in to make sure you’ve found the little turtle often disguised to look a bit like the level it’s in, which felt like a fun little detail.
Sizable has a well-suited adorable style of 3D low ploy that spans across a whole host of scenes ranging from underwater to space. It’s got just the right balance of details whilst keeping the models simple and this helps to add to the overall experience as you’ve looking for and interacting with the different objects throughout the world. The art style is complemented by short cute little animations throughout which aren’t just inside the puzzles but within the menu as well.
This has one of the most relaxing soundtracks which keeps you in a constant mood of relaxation through your time playing. Puzzle games can sometimes feel frustrating if you’re struggling to solve something, but this helps to combat that and mellow players throughout their time playing.
What’s great about this game is even though it’s only recently released there is a whole roadmap of content planned for it coming through free updates in the coming months. So, if you’re itching to play more once you’ve finished the included content then it’s not too far away!

If I had to sum up this game in three words, I'd probably say: relaxing, adorable and simple. Not simply in a bad way, but so simple that anyone could play it, enjoy it, and still be relaxed at the same time whether you like puzzle games or not. This is the kind of game that you could just pick up and explore, it doesn't matter how good you are at puzzles or how bad you are at them; you'll find enjoyment in this game. Be prepared though it’ll leave you wanting more.
